What CBD companies can I invest in?
There are wide range of CBD companies listed on the UK stock market and we’ve listed the main brands or holding companies here:
Cellular Goods (CBX)
Chill Brands Group (CHLL)
Love Hemp (LIFE) suspended
Voyager Life (VOY)
Yooma Wellness (YOOM)
Kanabo Group (KNB)
Oxford cannabinoid technologies (OCTP)
Seed Innovations (SEED)
We’ve focused on the main UK based options here spread across the London Stock Exchange (LSE) Alternative Investment market (AIM) and Aquis exchange (AQUIS). All the companies above are listed on one of these exchanges. We do also know of other companies such as Poko Group who are listed on the Canadian exchange, but we’ve not focused on these here due to the increased difficulties in purchasing shares cross-borders. The focus of this blog is also on the details of CBD listed companies with a more UK retail focus, as opposed to some of the brands listed above who have a broader focus on areas such as medical cannabis, or Hemp cultivation.
What CBD brands can I invest in listed on Associated CBD?
Well it’s never a bad thing to invest in something you trust and believe in. Of course that’s not the basis of making an investment but it certainly helps to have the opportunity to try the products your investment sells! On Associated CBD we list a few CBD brands that can also provide you the opportunity to become a shareholder in their business. The main ones we will talk about below:
Chill Brands Group (CHLL)
Zoetic CBD and Chill are two brands owned by Chill Brands Group and are a lifestyle CBD company also holding the fantastic Chill.com domain. They have a great range of Zoetic CBD tinctures and various topical creams and serums and occupy the premium part of the market with really high quality ingredients and high-end packaging. The Chill brand currently has a range of two product types in the UK (with more in the US including CBD pouches) including their delicious CBD gummies in 25mg strength and two flavour offerings, and also their Chill smokes. These are a nicotine and tobacco free smoke designed to fill a space in the market for either those looking for a genuine smooth CBD smoke or indeed to help with smoking cessation for customers looking to pivot away from tobacco smoking. A really novel idea to help slowly edge smokers off of tobacco, by still providing the tactile nature of a cigarette and the genuine smoking sensation of inhaling smoke. We’ve also talked about in another blog how CBD may have anti-addictive properties, so a double whammy of potential! Chill Brands Group is currently listed on the main London Stock Exchange in the UK and has a huge sales presence in the US. One of our co-founders remains a shareholder of CHLL, so naturally has a good understanding of the business and their huge potential.
Cellular Goods (CBX)
There have been a lot of questions about Cellular Goods, one of the high-profile IPOs in the industry and much talked about Cellular Goods share price. In recent months we have also seen an agreement with Cellular Goods agreeing to purchase Cannaray. So whilst we currently do not stock any Cellular Goods serums or skincare range, we do hold the Cannaray CBD Gummies and Cannaray CBD oils. You can find the link to Cannaray here. Cellular Goods shares (CBX) are listed on the LSE main market so certainly the best exchange which boosts their appeal in comparison to some brands on this list.
Love Hemp (LIFE)
Love Hemp is of course a brand we stock hugely across our site. From a huge range of CBD oils, CBD gummies and CBD chocolate balls amongst others. Love Hemp is listed on Aquis but due to some issues surrounding funding are currently suspended. Despite this, their products remain on sale, and have built up a strong reputation with various sponsorship deals with the likes of Anthony Joshua and the MMA. You can see Love Hemp's full range of CBD products linked here.
Voyager Life (VOY)
Voyager CBD is another brand we list on site and we welcome their wide range of products on site. Voyager Life was a success story after a really strong fundraise on the crowd platform Seedrs and then took the step to list on the Aquis exchange. Voyager CBD have expanded their product offerings over time, and have also moved into brick and mortar locations in St Andrews, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. They have a broad focus and wide product range with special mentions worthy of their many pet products, well priced CBD isolate oils and we also hear their in store coffee is a delight, with the choice of added CBD of course! Voyager CBD being listed on Aquis as investment has proved problematic, as there is no doubt as an exchange it lacks liquidity and volume but if you are happy to buy and hold for the long-term then it may have some legs.
What has happened to Cellular Goods share price?
Well this is sadly a question that could be asked of many CBD brands listed above over the last year to 18 months. The market has been in turmoil from a CBD perspective for a number of reasons. The initial hype and liquidity poured into the markets both from the US and wider afield in the initial post Covid rush has well and truly subsided and many brands that saw their share price soar have now given all those gains back and more.
Has the FSA impacted Cellular Goods share price or other listed brands?
The UK landscape has been further complicated by the significant issues caused by the FSA novel foods regulation. We welcome regulation for CBD and this has been badly needed but the structure and length of time has caused untold issues for CBD brands. It’s stifled growth and hugely limited forward planning whilst handing advantages to some brands over others with no rhyme or reason. The FSA regulation could have another blog written purely on that, but in short, it’s been a nightmare for the CBD industry, even if the intentions are good. We do expect full validation of products to land soon, which will in turn mean greater confidence for consumers, but will also no doubt mean a lot of products are removed from shelves up and down the country. Cellular Goods share price has been negatively impacted by these changes having products removed from sale, despite the underlying CBD products being identical to another brand named Pureis that has full authorisation. This was just one example of many where the FSA regulations have made little sense. The basis of which was about consumer confidence and safety, yet the imposing of their rules appear more about control.
So whilst Cellular Goods share price has been hit, Chill Brands Group have suffered a similar pain, and also suffered at the hands of the FSA in regards to a major UK store deal that was signed, only to be delayed seemingly for years as the Novel Foods debacle continues. We won’t go any further down this rabbit hole, but in short it’s been a painful period, but there is most definitely hope on the horizon.
What next for the CBD market?
We know the macro environment is not in a good place, with global economies facing double digit inflation, and interest rates rises being pushed through to control this, impacting stock prices and market liquidity. But, there is hope that recoveries in Cellular Goods share price, Chill Brands Group and others will be seen as we move forward and the CBD market matures. We expect consolidation of brands to continue with the best placed, well-funded and well-managed CBD companies to build a foundation that can flourish. With this said it’s worth noting that with many of the CBD companies are languishing at 12 month share price lows, and therein lies the opportunity! Cellular Goods share price was sitting at 20p around IPO time in early 2021, and now at the end of 2022, you can buy the shares at a little of 1p! This blog is absolutely not to provide investment advice, so we won’t be suggesting what anyone should do, but if you believe Cellular Goods products are great, or you love the Cannaray brand, then clearly some further research may be in order! But it is very clear that Cellular Goods PLC shares have fallen a long way, and it is always critical to do your own research before buying Cellular Goods shares!
Likewise, Chill Brands Group has suffered a similar change in fate from a share price perspective. A little over a year ago investors were paying over £1 a share, whereas today you can pick these up for a little over 2p! Crazy change in fortunes, so if you believe in what Chill can offer (wow that domain!) and again you like their smokes, or CBD gummies then it’s a business to have a look at for sure!

FAQs
What CBD oils are best for anxiety?
This is a question which will depend very much on the user. We find just as many of our customers opting for a cbd isolate based oil as we do for those looking at full spectrum or even broad spectrum oils. It is very much a question that is best tested by each person to find which CBD oils work best for them. The common advantage to CBD full spectrum oils are in regards to the well known combination of CBD with other cannabinoids called the entourage effect. The combination of other cannabinoids with CBD are said to interact with one another to have a more profound impact. However on the flip side, we find many customers who want the purest form of CBD with no further cannabinoids and for these users a CBD isolate remains their best bet.
How much CBD oil should I take?
So this brings us full circle to the heading of the blog post. Well to be honest, ultimately it depends. If you are a new user, we would typically suggest trying a CBD isolate oil and going for a small dosage in the region of 10mgs. You can then build this up over the following days and weeks to test your tolerance and see how your body reacts up to a limit of 70mg. We always remind people that you can dose far higher than this, and there are studies that have supported its safety profile as high as 1500mg per day, but we would certainly not suggest anyone to do that!
I’ve taken CBD in small doses before but now I want to try CBD for anxiety, so what do you suggest?
For a more seasoned CBD user, we might suggest trying a broad spectrum of full spectrum CBD oil but would still look to start small with a dosage in the 10-25mg category. This allows any user to build up overtime and to really test how the CBD interacts with your body and if it really aids your sleep.
Can I take CBD everyday?
Yes, you can take CBD everyday and in fact building up CBD in your system overtime can give some of the greatest benefits as opposed to one-off dosages.
Which CBD Oil is best?
We like to think variety is an important factor, and that is one reason at Associated CBD we try to hold a wide variety of CBD strengths, types and products! There is no best CBD out there, it is about what works best for you and your body.
Are there studies that can support CBD helping with anxiety?
Yes, there are plenty of studies that support CBD having effects on anxiety and many of our customers have left positive reviews for how it has supported them in this way. Some of our blogs look in more detail at these studies.

Is CBD oil safe?
Yes, it is perfectly safe and legal to consume and all our products have a legal limit of THC below 0.2% and lab reports are available for all our CBD products.
Will CBD get me high?
No, CBD will not get you high as CBD is not the psychoactive element of Cannabis Sativa group of plants that gives the “high”. This is the THC element and all our CBD products for pain relief contain less than 0.2% THC as legally permitted in the UK.
Can I take CBD on holiday?
The answer to this question is always - do your research first! Whilst our CBD products are legal and safe to use in the UK, in other countries there are specific laws that need to be followed. We have a blog that covers some of this but please look at your destination governing website before attempting to bring CBD into another country!
CBD interacts with the ECS
Every human being has an endocannabinoid system and some researchers believe that CBD interacts with a core component of the endocannabinoid receptors in your brain and immune system. These receptors are tiny proteins attached to your cells. They receive signals, mostly chemical ones, from different stimuli and help your cells respond. This response creates anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects that help with pain management.
CBD for back pain
This means that CBD oil and other products may benefit people and is a key reason why we see so many turn to CBD for back pain in the UK. Even some our our trustpilot
reviews specifically talk of how our products have reduced their back pain with one stating
Best CBD oils for pain relief
It is very difficult to pick out our favourite CBD oils for pain UK, but we certainly do have a few options that our customers repeat order and review very well. Unsurprisingly the most potent options for pain relief from CBD are the stronger full spectrum oils.
